The Three Little Pigs:
as it was originally passed into English folklore in
1620
 |
The second
little pig also got up early in the morning and began collecting
more poles for his house. By noontime he had cut down and
dragged more long sticks to his house, and by the end of the
day, he had notched four more poles and put them onto his house. |
 |
The third little pig had also
arisen early and walked through the woods to the
creekbank where he had found clay. He spent the
entire day
digging clay out of
the ground for his bricks. By the end of the day, he had a pile
of clay as tall as
he was, but he had
still built nothing and so he walked over to
visit the second
little pig. |
| The second little pig greeted the
third little pig as he approached, and called out to him,"Look
how much work I have done on my stick house!" Whereupon the
third little pig harrumpfed and once again began talking about
what a fine house he was building, and how crude the stick house
would look.

Arising
early on the third day, the first little pig went to the house of the
second little pig, and said, "Little Pig, if you will help me
gather grasses today and help me tie it into bundles on my
house, we will be able to complete my house by sunset, and then
I will share my house with you until you have finished building
your stick house."
