The Three Little Pigs:
as it was originally passed into English folklore in
1620
 |
Once upon a time there was an old sow who had
three little pigs. As she was not able
to take care of the pigs, she sent them out into the world to
fend for themselves. |
 |
 |
Since there were wolves in the nearby forest,
they decided that they must set about to build themselves
houses. |
 |
The large meadows nearby were filled with
tall grasses so the first little pig decided to build her house
from straw. |
 |
 |
The second little pig decided that since the
woods were filled with trees, he would build his house of
sticks.
The third little pig wanted to build a house
that was finer and stronger than the other pigs' houses. He
decided to build his house of bricks. |
| Now the first little pig set about gathering long
poles to support the grass of her house. She planted the long
poles into the ground in a circle and bent them towards each
other to make arches. |
